Brief info

Melanie DeYoung is the Director Innovation and Value Proposition. She helps clients seize opportunities in the defence sector by identifying software solutions that enable faster turnaround times, from design to production.

Melanie believes that collaboration leads to innovation, and she is driven to turn ideas into reality in order to unlock the creative potential of an organization.

Prior to joining InnovMarine, Melanie was the Director Industrial & Technological Benefits (ITB) Programs at IMP Aerospace & Defence where she leveraged strategic relationships into valuable research and business development opportunities. In the summer of 2022, she was recognized by WINGS magazine as one of Canada’s Top 20 under 40 inspiring young leaders.

Melanie is trained as a professional logistician and completed her Bachelor of Commerce Co-op degree from Dalhousie University in 2007. She has also completed several leadership and technical courses throughout her career.

Melanie enjoys going for hikes. She also sings in her local community choir and participates in an annual battle of the bands competition. She keeps busy chasing after her two young boys and a large yellow lab named Teddy!
